Honda’s Revival – New 2017 Honda Civic – Release Date and Review

Returning to its true form with a spacious and technology filled interior, daring looks, turbocharged power, satisfying handling, safety technologies, advanced infotainment system, powerful and fuel-efficient turbocharged engine is none other than the 2017 Honda Civic. Its release date should be expected anytime in the first half of 2017.

Redesign Was Necessary

There is no point in denying the fact that the previous generation of the Civic that ran for five years got some dull early reviews and controversy characteristic for Honda, which eventually led to its overhaul in the second year. Although the Civic nameplate became more competitive, it is obvious that its appeal also declined. And therefore, it no-longer retained its compelling nature anymore particularly with its rivals going forward in lightning speed.

Something Changed In The Air…

However, for Honda fans, the new 2017 Honda Civic is profoundly improved and comes with several changes that should come as a relief. Its innovative spirit has been revived by its user-friendly touchscreen interface, mature cabin, and its neat sporty exterior.

Under the hood, the base engine generates a healthy 158 horsepower and returns an exceptional fuel economy rating of 40 mpg in the highway. For those looking for more speed, there is the turbocharged mill that generates a cool 174 horsepower and 162 pounds-ft. of torque.

Similar to the best Civics of the time long past, the newest Civic offers an appealing fun-to-drive character thanks to the sporty handling. Even at speed, you can hardy hear any wind, sound of tires, or road noise, and, unlike in previous models, its ride quality is very satisfying.

Quite often, we take Civic’s “spacious interior accommodations” with a dose of skepticism, however, the 2017 model walks the talk and some consumers might actually question the need for an Accord given the Civic offers so much interior space.

Are There Any Other Trim Levels?

For those who don’t mind spending extra, the top-of-the-line Civic Touring offers Acura-grade refinement and premium materials. But even in its basic form, the new Civic still offers comfortable and laudable materials.

Are There Any Alternatives?

Is It Still One Of The “10-Best”? – 2017 Honda Fit Release Date and Review

Even with the new 2017 Honda Fit under heavy camouflage, details such as unique redesigned front fascia, and spacious cargo area are quite apparent. The Fit continues to provide an outward expression of power and handling thanks to the seemingly sporty exterior.

Again, the high level of standard and available features continue to significantly contribute to its sophistication. Want to learn more? If so, here’s what you should expect: release date and price info, exterior and interior redesigns, and specifications for the engine.

2017 Honda Fit exterior, side view, alloy wheels

Perfect Name

Judging from the available teaser photos flaunted by Honda and rumors from those in the know, the new Fit is expected to come with features such as a strong fuel economy, an amazing accommodating cabin, unmatched versatility, and excellent exterior visibility. See, the Fit has enjoyed quite a successful run ever since it was introduced to the U.S in 2006. In fact, it was for seven years named the “10-Best” vehicle by Car and Driver courtesy of its affordability, fuel efficiency, driving enjoyment, a high quality interior, and wealth of standard and available accessories.

While car names, more often than not, consist of alphanumeric jumbles, the “Fit” is the perfect literalism that best describes what the Honda Fit offers. After all, Honda is well known for the surprising versatility of its vehicles such as the Fit despite the meager dimensions. The pint-size hatchback body style offers an incredible space to pack most of your stuff. The head and legroom are also surprisingly decent. Thrown in the available standard features and technologies and you’ve got yourself a versatile vehicle without having to break the bank.

Interior Is The Same Size

Speculation is rife that the interior design will remain unchanged – not an issue if you ask me given the impressive layout design that the previous model featured. Upgrades to technologies and material quality should be expected nevertheless. The refreshments to the technologies and materials will go a long way in solidifying the Fit’s position in the highly competitive subcompact segment.

Competitors Are…

But even as we ponder about what the Honda Fit 2017 will offer, the segment is also home to other well-rounded options that, just like the Fit, have improved in leaps and bounds over the previous models they’re replacing. The Kia Soul, for instance, offers better cargo capacity; the Toyota Yaris is fresh and better priced; while the Ford Fiesta is fun-to-drive and fuel-efficient. But even with such stout rivals nipping its heels, the 2017 Honda Fit is an incredible option for those looking for versatility and efficiency on a budget.

Changes For The 2017 Honda Fit Release Date & Price

Pricing is expected to remain unchanged over the model it replaces, as the newest model doesn’t come with any evolutionary or revolutionary design changes. As such, buyers should expect a base price starting from $17,525 MSRP. As regards the release date, expect the Fit to go for sale sometime in mid-2017, probably as 2018 Honda Fit.

2017 Honda Fit Exterior

From the images trolling the internet, it is perfectly clear that the new Fit returns unchanged over the previous model’s design. What that means is that the new model will come with powerful lines flowing from the front and rear that integrate with the aerodynamic and purposeful design of the entire car. Rumor has it that it comes a better drag coefficient courtesy of the greatly improved exterior aerodynamics.

The color-matched, two-tone, black side mirrors, for instance, are specifically designed to lower the aerodynamic drag by reducing wind noise. The impact of this is expected to enhance the fuel economy figures even higher than before. Lighting is exclusively LED for the headlights, taillights, and foglights.

Changes For The 2017 Honda Fit Interior

Well, we’ll be lying to tell you the specific details of the interior redesigns that you should expect given the heavy guise the test mule is on. Having said that however, several upgrades should be expected to the material quality and technologies for purposes of making it look refreshing over its immediate predecessor.

Available Trims Are…

Honda is still mum on the number of trim levels to expect, as well as their names. If the current lineup carries over however, then we should expect five trims for the 2017 Honda Fit: Navi, EX-L, EX-L, LX, and EX.

Engine Specs

2017 Honda Fit engine

A carry over 130-horsepower – generating 1.5L four-cylinder engine should be expected for the new model. There’re rumors of a turbocharged engine although confirmations from Honda are yet to be offered. 32 mpg is the fuel economy for combined city/highway cruising.

New Safety Measures?

The existing Honda Fit got five out five star overall rating for crash impact safety. It is highly expected that the new model, too, will offer the same perfect scores once the government releases them during its release date.

New Honda CR-V Has Weak Engine?

We can say the same about the new 2017 Honda CR-V concept. According to Honda, it offers lots of practicality and new technologies in addition to the previously-mentioned highlights. Equipment And Accessories

Nevertheless, the CR-V factors in most of what people like – interior space, usability, safety, practicality, and fuel economy – and therefore deserves a spot on your priority list.

Doesn’t Need An Upgrade?

For starters, the Honda pilot has been the go-to three-row SUV for buyers looking for efficiency and plenty of interior accommodations for the large families. It hits all the high notes for reliability, comfort, and versatility too. According to rumors, the new Honda Pilot isn’t expected to undergo such a radical surgery as the existing model is still up to the task when it comes to material quality and upscale technologies. Minor design changes and technological updates are nevertheless imminent, at least from what we hear.

Every Car Wants To Be The Pilot

Since its arrival thirteen years ago, the Pilot has continued to distinguish itself by setting industry benchmarks for dynamic handling, safety performance, fuel efficiency, and thoughtful interior packaging. And yet, Honda never seems to rest on its laurels. As already mentioned, the new 2017 Honda Pilot isn’t expected to change much from the outgoing model due to the thorough redesign change the previous model underwent. As such, the existing exterior design will carry on except for the minor tweaks that Honda may offer. The front and rear bumper, headlights and taillights, and the tailgate design will carry over unchanged. There’s however reports that the grille and hood may change slightly to offer the front fascia a more modern outlook.

Also, while the existing model enjoys eight exterior colors including five pearl and three metallic colors, several additions may be available as well. But even if the current color palette carries over unaltered, the 2017 Pilot will still enjoy a strong character by exhibiting a smart luxury appearance as before.

The heavy camouflage on its exterior makes it almost impossible for anyone to peek through. Some of the standard accessories to expect include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone app integration, an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen interface, satellite and HD radio, dual-zone automatic climate control.

Available Trims Are…

Five trims are expected for the 2017 Honda Pilot: EX-L, EX, Elite, Touring, and LX. Slight changes can be expected on its release date however.

New Safety Measures
