For the new model year, the midsize sedan segment is fast ballooning with new cars. And the 2017 Ford Fusion is one of them. With its release date confirmed for spring 2017, the new model promises to deliver a stunning performance unseen before.
Some of the features it bundles include distinctive styling, solid power, and excellent fuel economy ratings. Also, an all-wheel drive system is available, handling and steering is amazing, technologies are upgraded, and the technologies’ roster has been improved.
New Trim Levels, Engine And More
Although the new model returns virtually unchanged from the previous year, some of the subtle changes to expect include an ultra-lux Platinum trim model, refreshed front-end styling, a more powerful engine, and a new Sync 3 infotainment system. The Fusion has had its fair share of ups and downs since its debut in 2013. And despite the current generation model having debuted some couple of years ago, it still looks and feels fresh, and features multiple powertrain options, an attractive interior, and a handsome Aston Martin-esque grille.
The most notable add-ons that Ford has bundled for the new models are perhaps the new trim entries – the 2017 Ford Fusion V6 Sport, and Fusion Platinum. Also, two hybrid models should be expected – the 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid and Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid. This is what Ford executive vice president and chief technical officer, global product development – Raj Nair, had to say, “The new Fusion offers a lot more than a car – including a more rewarding driving experience, beautiful design, and helpful technology than other cars.”
The all-new Ford Fusion V6 Sport offers a performance no other midsize sedan can match. It comes equipped with a 325 horsepower, twin-turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that makes a whole lot more than what the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry offer with their 3.5L V6 engines. Buyers will arguably find both the Fusion Hybrid and the Fusion Energi fascinating options. For 2017, the duo get a new software that enables then two to achieve an engaging and refined drive quality.
Fusion Platinum Model
Lastly, but certainly not the least is the Fusion Platinum model. It is the top-of-the-line model that is designed for those seeking even greater levels of craftsmanship and refinement. It comes equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine that ensures it not only offers a superb interior comfort, but also an excellent performance. Some of the upscale features to expect include a unique grille finished in Magnetic paint, hand-wrapped steering wheel, and Cocoa leather wrappings.
Known 2017 Ford Fusion Release Date & Price
In the USA market, the new model is expected to cost as follows: the Fusion Sport – $33,475, the Fusion Titanium – $32,610, the Fusion SE – $23,610, Fusion S – $22,610, and the top-of-the-line Fusion Platinum – $38,620. Its release date as already told should be expected sometime in the spring of 2017.
Detailed Changes For The 2017 Ford Fusion Exterior
Some of the exterior features to expect include automatic headlights, sixteen-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, foglights, a rear spoiler, and a unique grille insert. As can be seen from the images, the 2017 Ford Fusion returns virtually unchanged from the existing model, meaning it still features the same design cues, colors, and features that were offered previously.
Simplified 2017 Ford Fusion Interior Redesign
The interior of the new model is characterized by high-quality finishes, and a cool and urbane style. Unnecessary cluttering has been removed by the optional Sync 3 touchscreen interface, which removes all center stack buttons. The Sync 3 in question comes as a replacement for the MyFord Touch interface.
The new infotainment system comes with large virtual buttons, is more responsive, and easier to use than the previous system. Some of the standard features to expect include a rearview camera, full power accessories, a four-speaker sound system, a USB port, an auxiliary audio jack, Bluetooth connectivity, height-adjustable driver seat, and cruise control.
