2017 Peugeot 2008 review

Some of the highlights that define the fresh 2017 Peugeot 2008 are perhaps its sporty GT line, a versatile Grip Control system, and enhanced convenience features. Additionally, its reputation for dynamic performance and elegance serve as added bonuses to its appeal. The Peugeot 2008 release date is slated for this summer.

For starters, the Peugeot 2008 first debut occurred three years ago during which the vehicle has amassed quite a significant following, especially among British new car buyers. It has experienced growth in both girth and sales and boasts of over half a million units in sales worldwide this year.

2017 Peugeot 2008 Exterior & Interior Changes

Both its exterior and interior designs have been spruced up. The exterior design comes with a more appealing, assertive, and powerful SUV design. Its robustness is confirmed by features such as its wheel arch extensions, scuff plates, and a new vertical front grille. The power and desirability are further epitomized by the new Ultimate Red color that is now featured on the 2017 Peugeot 2008 color palette.

As already mentioned previously, the new model also comes with grip control that allows the 2008 to achieve unrivaled versatility regardless of the terrain. Other rarities in this segment include the MirrorScreen, Park Assist, and Active City Brake system. There’s no doubt that the 2017 Peugeot 2008 offers an assertive proposition with a unique and addictive driving experience and an unparalleled dynamic performance.

Are There Any Alternatives For The New Peugeot?

The segment also offers other fine alternatives to the Peugeot 2008 2017. Some of these include the Renault Captur and the Nissan Juke Nismo RS. The 2017 Nissan Juke Nismo RS price starts from an MSRP of around $28,020. Some of the Nissan Juke specs include a lively performance, an available all-wheel drive system, unique exterior/interior color customizations, and a sporty handling. It comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder engine that should be able to crank out a walloping 188 hp and 177 lbs. ft. of torque. The Nissan Juke Nismo RS release date should be expected sometime in mid-2017 and will likely be offered as a 2018 year model.

The 2017 Renault Captur, on the other hand, shares almost the same dimensions as the 2017 Peugeot 2008. Its fundamental principles revolve around fuel economy and affordability. Just as the 2008 is based on the 208, the Captur is based on the smaller Clio. Rumors allege the new 2017 Renault Captur price will likely start from around $20,490.

2017 Peugeot 2008 Engine Specs

The new 2017 Peugeot 2008 is expected to feature either a 1.2L, three-cylinder, gasoline engine or a four-cylinder 1.6L diesel powerplant. The three-cylinder comes in several variants with the least of ‘em cranking out around 81 hp and the most powerful 128 horsepower.

In terms of its fuel economy, EPA says 81-horsepower – generating mill should be able to check in at around 57.6 mpg on the European cycle. Fuel economy for the 108-horsepower variant of the same three-cylinder mill is expected at 58.9 mpg, which is also the fuel economy for the 128-horsepower variant of the three-cylinder banger.

On the diesel front, the new 2017 Peugeot 2008 comes equipped with a fuel-sipping 1.6L HDi engine that is similarly offered in three output variations (74, 99, and 118 horsepower). The most powerful variant comes equipped with a six-speed manual, while the five-speed manual comes hitched with the other two output variants.

Although lacking an all-wheel drive system, Peugeot says the new model comes with a grip control feature that maximizes traction regardless of the terrain. Five modes are available with the Grip Control: Standard, Mud, Snow, Sand, and the ESP Off mode. The latter mode is capable of managing traction anonymously at speed of up to 31 mph.
